The mute chain consists of 2 main parts, the pin and the plate. The pins are rotated in the same direction and positioned so that they can only engage the sprocket from 1 direction. In order to understand the mechanism of frictional losses in chains, various parameters must be considered. Speed, pitch, temperature and tension are the main parameters affecting friction loss.
